Graduates of the follow-up master's degree programme in History, specialisation Cultural History, will acquire the ability to see the questions and problems of the contemporary world in the context of historical development.
During their studies, they will get acquainted with the key topics of social history from the 15th to the 20th century, which will be presented cross-sectionally across all social strata and mainly from a Central European perspective.
The central object of research will be the process of forming a modern state and its impact on society. Based on the acquired knowledge, students will gain the ability to get an insight into current disputes about the past, and to approach current political, social and cultural issues with knowledge of historical contexts.
Based on a comprehensive knowledge of social development, they will find employment opportunities both in memory institutions such as museums and, for example, in the media.
